Atlantic Productions, founded in 1992, is a multi-award winning independent factual production company and pioneer in immersive storytelling. Atlantic has won over 50 international awards including 11 Emmys and 4 British Academy Awards (BAFTA), including the first ever BAFTA for virtual reality storytelling.

Atlantic’s award-winning television, theatrical films, IMAX, and immersive experiences have been seen in over 150 countries around the world. Our work has covered 13 projects with David Attenborough, the acclaimed BBC series Inside the Commons, landmark series ‘The Promised Land’ created with the BBC and Discovery, and the award-winning theatrical films ‘The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest’ and ‘Hawking: Can You Hear Me?’

Atlantic is one of the fastest growing immersive companies covering education, health, and entertainment. Recent immersive collaborations include Google, Apple, Meta, NASA, and Harvard Medical School. In December 2023 Atlantic released Galapagos with David Attenborough, a major VR experience in collaboration with Meta. It is one of the most popular releases on the Meta headset. In January 2024, Apple announced that Atlantic is one of the leading content partners on the Apple Vision Pro. An Atlantic film with Apple Immersive video, ‘Adventure – Highlining’, was included in the launch of the headset.

Anthony Geffen CEO & Creative Director

Anthony Geffen is CEO and Creative Director of Atlantic Productions and is one of the world’s leading documentary film makers and a pioneer in immersive storytelling. He’s won over 50 international awards including 5 British Academy Awards (BAFTAs) and 11 American Emmys. WIRED described him as a visionary storyteller.

He oversees four Studios which are part of  Atlantic– this includes Atlantic Immersive, one of the fastest growing immersive companies covering education, health, and entertainment. Recent immersive collaborations include Google, Apple, Meta, NASA, and Harvard Medical School. He won the first British Academy Award (BAFTA) for virtual reality storytelling.

He also oversees the production Studio Atlantic Productions, Atlantic Design and Visual Effects Studio, and a Theatrical Studio.

His films have been seen by over a billion people. He has made 13 projects with David Attenborough including the ‘Great Barrier Reef’,  ‘First Life’, and ‘David Attenborough meets President Obama’. Other documentaries include ‘Belsen: Our Story’, ‘Jerusalem: City of Heaven’, ‘The Promised Land’, ‘Inside the Commons’ and ‘The Coronation’ with Queen Elizabeth II. Theatrical films include ‘The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest’ and ‘Hawking: Can You Hear Me?’ and ‘Natural History Museum Alive 3D’.

He has been part of expeditions which have journeyed to the top of the world, Mount Everest and to the deepest point of the world’s oceans, the Mariana Trench.

He has spoken at forums across the world including TEDX, Google Zeitgeist, Facebook Hack the Future and the Apple Developer Conference. He worked at the BBC for 10 years on several highly acclaimed award-winning films and series.

He is a fellow at St Cross College, Oxford University.
