David Lee is Atlantic’s Emmy- and BAFTA-winning Executive Producer. His role is to nurture exciting new ideas, steer them through the commissioning process into production, and ensure Atlantic’s high quality brand of story-telling delivers on screen.
David series directed two recent landmark projects presented by David Attenborough – the Emmy award winning Rise of Animals for the BBC, and the BAFTA and Emmy nominated Conquest of the Skies for Sky. He is also at the heart of Atlantic’s ground-breaking work in VR, playing a key role in producing David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef Dive VR, winner of the first ever BAFTA awarded to a virtual reality film. His other productions at Atlantic reveal a passion for storytelling across the specialist factual spectrum, with major credits including When Rome Ruled and Egypt Unwrapped for National Geographic, Atlantis Found for The History Channel, and the intimate observational documentary Attenborough’s Journey for the BBC
Before joining Atlantic full time David directed several highly successful projects at other leading television production companies, including the hi-octane engineering series Countdown to Collision for Windfall; revisionist history documentary Salem Witch Trial Conspiracy and forensic science format The Great American Manhunt for Wide-Eyed Entertainment; and for Electric Sky, true crime series Art of the Heist and forensic archaeology series Tomb Detectives.
