Anthony Geffen is CEO of Atlantic Productions and is one of the world’s leading documentary film makers and a pioneer in immersive storytelling. He’s won over 50 international awards including 4 British Academy Awards (BAFTAs) and 9 American Emmys.
He was described by WIRED magazine as being “behind some of the most exciting advancements in VR, AR and AI storytelling”. He oversees four companies which are part of the Atlantic group - this includes Alchemy, one of the fastest growing immersive companies covering education, health and entertainment. Recent immersive collaborations include Google, Apple, Meta, NASA and Harvard Medical School. He won the first British Academy Award (BAFTA) for virtual reality storytelling.
He also oversees the production company Atlantic Productions, ZOO a special effects company and Colossus a theatrical company.
His films have been seen by over a billion people. 13 projects with David Attenborough including the ‘Great Barrier Reef’, ‘Rise of Animals: Triumph of the Vertebrates’, ‘David Attenborough meets President Obama’ and ‘Natural History Museum Alive 3D’. Other documentaries include ‘Belsen: Our Story’, ‘Jerusalem: City of Heaven’, ‘The Promised Land’, ‘Inside the Commons’ and 'The Coronation’ with Queen Elizabeth II. Theatrical films include ‘The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest’ and ‘Hawking, Can You Hear Me?’. He has been part of expeditions which have journeyed to the top of the world, Mount Everest and to the deepest point of the world’s oceans, the Mariana Trench.
He has spoken at forums across the world including TEDX, Google Zeitgeist, Facebook Hack the Future and the Apple Developer Conference. He worked at the BBC for 10 years as a Director, Producer and Executive Producer on several highly acclaimed award winning films and series.
He is a fellow at St Cross College, Oxford University.
